  • Stuart Bruce — internationally recognised PR futurist, pioneer in modernised public relations and corporate affairs and co-founder Purposeful Relations

Stuart is a public relations innovator. He has 30+ years experience across all aspects of public relations, communications and corporate affairs. Today he specialises on advising communications teams and agencies on improving performance using AI, technology, data and analytics, measurement and evaluation, culture change, learning and professional development.

He works globally and has advised clients including Google, Nestlé, Rolls-Royce, Network Rail, European Commission, Motability, Sage, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, Northern Housing Consortium, Tourism Ireland, NICE, Leo Burnett and Finsbury Glover Herring.

He is Global Executive Committee member of the World Communication Forum Association in Davos and former director of the CIPR. Stuart regularly provides media comment and judges industry awards.

  • Calvin Brown the ‘AI Communicator’ innovator and influencer on the future of AI in PR.

Calvin Brown is an award-winning Director of Communications with NHS Lanarkshire. He has a strong interest in artificial intelligence, particularly the application of generative AI for communications and public relations. He writes a newsletter AI Communicator with a focus on sharing practical advice and insights about the latest developments in this rapidly evolving landscape. Calvin graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a BA Honours degree in Accounting. He went on to study journalism and worked as a reporter in England and Scotland before moving into public relations. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Calvin will look at a number of potential use cases for AI in communications and PR to give attendees inspiration for applying AI to their own work.

  • Sam Glynn 

Founder of MySecurityGuide.com, a service to help self-employed professionals and small teams to protect their professional reputations and their clients’ sensitive information from cyber criminals. Sam is also the founder of Code In Motion, an independent consultancy firm that provides IT security advice and independent assurance to help SMEs prove they are taking reasonable steps to manage IT and cyber security risk.

  • Dr Clea Bourne, who will discuss how AI is disrupting our PR work and how that is likely to develop.

Author of ‘AI Hype: Public Relations and AI’s doomsday machine’ in Artificial Intelligence in Public Relations and Communications: cases,reflections, and predictions edited by Dr Ana Adi, academic, and former PR professional Dr Bourne is a Reader in the Department of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her current research examines the public legitimisation of artificial intelligence and automation in everyday life. She is also the author of Public Relations and the Digital: Professional Discourse and Change (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022).

 

  • David Branigan, a professional photographer journalist based in Dublin will discuss how Generative AI is affecting the work of photographers and images in the media.

David is president of Press Photographers Ireland, a not-for-profit, volunteer-lead organisation dedicated to showcasing the extraordinary work produced by its members, through the Press Photographer of the Year Award, and promoting the role of the press photographer in building the nation's visual historical record. David's work has been published in numerous national and international publications and he is a contributor to several newspapers in Ireland including The Irish Times, Irish Independent and Irish Examiner as well RTE Radio.

Neil has worked as a journalist at the Guardian, Tribune, Storyful as well as in public affairs and agency. He is the CEO of Caliber AI which provides digital tools to support publishers & platforms in detecting potentially defamatory or harmful text.
